Harry Potter Takes New York wearing Designer Clothing

For anyone that thinks that Harry Potter is getting to be old news, the excitement at the New York premiere on Thursday night, July 9, proves that he's one wizard that is still beloved by fans, even after all these years. It was the premiere of "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince," the sixth film in the series based on J. K. Rowling's phenomenally successful novels, and the screaming devotees and star-studded red carpet showed the world that Harry's appeal has not waned one bit.

danielle radcliffe || harry potter || designer clothes

Of course, the three main "Harry Potter" stars, Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, and Rupert Grint, were on hand to celebrate. The trio began the series as children in 2001 with "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone," and like their characters in the films they have grown up over the past nine years. Now poised adults aged 19, 20, and 19, the three have spent most of their lives working on the epic story of Harry and his magical destiny.

bonnie wright || harry potter || designer clothingWhen asked earlier in the day at a press conference about the end of the franchise, with "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows" coming in 2010, Emma Watson spoke for the group.

"I think we all feel as if Harry Potter is never really going to die. I think it's so big and so loved. We have a theme park coming out in 2010 and I think that kids are going to keep reading the books and new generations of the kids are going to keep watching the films and I don't really ever feel like it's going to really go away. I think it's got longevity," she said.

Other stars on hand for the film's premiere included Bonnie Wright, Michael Gambon, Alan Rickman, Tom Felton, Warwick Davis and Freddie Stroma, as well as director David Yates.

emma watsonIf the celebrity fan turnout is any indication, "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince" will join its predecessors in raking in huge amounts of cash at the box office. Denis Leary, Diane Sawyer, Marcia Gay Harden, Ashanti, Lance Bass, Michelle Trachtenberg, Eric Mabius, Gina Gershon, and Vanessa Williams all came out to be among the first to see the latest thrilling installment in the battle between Harry Potter and Lord Voldemort.

Tom felton || harry potter || Designade kläderAnd as for the final chapter in the series, Daniel Radcliffe spoke for the group when he admitted, "I'm so excited about the seventh film. Seeing the sixth film again, we are doing something very, very different in the last one. We're not at Hogwarts. The difference that makes is extraordinary."

Wear your Designer Clothing like Michael Jackson

Here are some tips to dress like Michael Jackson. Have fun reading this.

michael jackson || designer clothes

Iconic Outfits

In the 80s there were several looks that Michael Jackson created and introduced to his legions of fans. One of his most iconic looks was the red leather jacket with black diagonal lines that formed a V-shape in the front. The jacket was worn with matching red pants and black loafers. This designer clothes can be copied by choosing a loose red leather jacket and wearing it with red pants that match the jacket as closely as possible.

In the 90s, he became known for his long black jackets and matching black pants. Unlike the loose red jacket, the black jackets were worn in a form-fitting cut that fit tightly on the arms. The jackets often had some military styling such as large gold buttons down the front, epaulets or military-style scrolling embroidered at the cuffs. Other black jackets had black sequined details.

A black fedora was often worn with the outfits, particularly with the black and white outfits. For an outfit that instantly recognizable as Michael Jackson’s style, wear a black or red jacket with black pants and black shoes. Air the outfit with a black fedora with a white band around it.

White T-Shirts

Michael Jackson often wore a plain white t-shirt under his jackets or alone without a jacket. A common outfit of his was a pair of straight black pants, a white t-shirt and black loafers. When the t-shirt was worn under a jacket it was sometimes a crew neck t-shirt. But most of the time, he wore a plain v-neck t-shirt with or without a jacket.

Socks and Glove

One of the most recognizable aspects of Michael Jackson’s outfits are the white socks that he always wore. No matter the color of the pants, pair a Michael Jackson outfit with either plain white socks or white socks with a slight silver sparkle to them. Wearing a black suit with black loafers and bright white socks is a classic Michael Jackson look.

In the 80s, Michael Jackson earned himself the nickname “The Gloved One” because of his trend-setting single glove. To get the look of his glove, wear a glove on the right hand. The glove should be white with lots of rhinestones or silver sequins on it to give it some sparkle. His stage gloves had sparkles only on the back side of the glove to make it easier to hold a microphone while his appearance gloves had sparkles all the way around. Either type will evoke the style of Michael Jackson.

Armbands

Most of his designer clothing and outfits over the past 20 years have featured an armband tied around his right around halfway between the shoulder and the elbow. To get this look, wind a piece of fabric in a contrasting color around the right arm. If the shirt or jacket is black, wear a red or black armband. If the shirt is white, wear a red or black armband.

Lanvin’s New Bad Boys Rule in Designer Clothing

If any collection best captured the current state of play in men’s fashion it was Lanvin, whose exhilarating show Sunday morning, June 28, in Paris was a real double whammy: The coolest collection of designer clothes in the most assuredly staged show.

Where previously Lanvin was all about the sensitive man, poetic figures whose clothes all looked designed for dinner parties where only Bordeaux vintages are served, for Spring 2010 Lanvin’s man's first destination will be a nightclub.

designer clothes || LanvinThat much was clear from the pre-show ambience in the Salle Wagram - a Berlin techno track and bordello red lighting, where the start of the show was heralded by the volume brusquely turned way up.

Lanvin, the house that spawned the current obsession with wearing bowties - everyone from Lower East Side hipsters to Milanese dandies wear dickie bows these days – has suddenly walked away from the phenomena. They were absent from this show.

designer clothing || Lanvin“It’s our anti-uniform collection and all about why not? Why not a nightclub? Why not iced coffee for breakfast," said Lanvin’s creative director Alber Elbaz with a laugh, who took his bow, as is customary, with menswear designer Lucas Ossendrijver.

Though not many men can afford Lanvin’s pricey menswear, its influence has been huge – just take a look this spring in the windows of Zara, the giant Spanish fashion retailer, crammed, as they are, with the muted hues, frayed hems and sensitive fabrics the Paris house made its signature.

designade kläder || Lanvin
They should get ready to re-do the shop front for Lanvin’s after midnight collection emphasis on faille rocker dandy redingotes and a great new trouser cut – in taupe, ivy and battered burgundy – cut forgivingly down the thigh and tapered at the ankle. But the best idea was a series of pants and suits in cool tartan or club tie stripe fabrics which will be de rigueur for all hipsters next Easter.

Added to the mix were some great footwear, either Hobbit-like chunky brogues or fabric strap sandals, worn at the strong ecru colored finale where calf leather bomber jackets, worn inside pants, Querelle style singlets and off-the-shoulder trenches starred.

designer kläder || LanvinThe only thing missing was a backstage pass around their necks or an after-party invite in their hands for Europe’s two mega tours of the summer – Depeche Mode and U2.

Through the Wind and Rain in Burberry Designer Clothes

The most outstanding designer clothing collection seen Saturday, June 20, the opening day of the Italian menswear season, was Burberry, whose stroll through the wind and rain was the show that most connected to the current economic zeitgeist.

designer clothes

While the clothes were very much in step with the gentleman explorer aesthetic of Burberry’s creative director Christopher Bailey, the Spring 2010 collection nonetheless reflected the current global mood of wariness, dressing elegantly but never loudly and with an overriding sense of humility.

designer clothingNo designer anywhere, given the lack of action at cash registers, is trying to reinvent the wheel, but Bailey, to his credit, at least addressed the global mood with a show that began in with a downbeat opening and then morphed into a celebratory high-end nomad moment.

“I wanted to begin in the rain and end in the sun, a typical English day,” Bailey said backstage.

His opening was all about new takes on Burberry’s symbolic garment, the trench, showing new shower-proof waxed cottons and linens that had distinction but were never loud. He also revamped the classic padded country jacket with a shiny finish and a nightclub attitude.

Christopher also dipped into one major trend seen the last time the economy was in a tailspin, the bondage shirt, sending out several tops with multiple surgical straps around the torso that were early eighties and edgy.

burberry

But his best looks were bulky double-breasted dusters in technical finishes or redingotes in hefty linens that responded to men’s yearning for a look that is both protective and yet posh.

A series of polished, yet also worn, Chelsea boots and some masculine high-tech yachting parkas added to the air of rugged cool.

Jason Wu Resort 2010: Convertible Chic

In the cheerful spirit of Resort 2010, Jason Wu was all smiles on Thursday, June 4, as he showed his collection in a garden-spot in New York, where beams of natural sunlight that crept in through the clouds only further accented his 'highlight' pieces. Through designer clothes.

jason wu

In a collection that honed in on a few electric colors, Wu let us taste the rainbow with fan-pleated skirts in both bright red and green, and saved the 'oldie but goodie' highlighter-yellow for the end with a peplum shiftdress that was worth the wait. Pairing these brights with muted shades of grey, Wu played with contrary forces, mixing things up to attain that contemporary look. As he explained, "I love that we paired a jersey T-shirt and a luxurious draped skirt with a diamond bracelet."

designer clothes

Folds were plentiful, as envelope sleeves gave dimension up top, drawing the eye to a modestly sexy neckline, in tandem as pleats and drape skirts gave structure from below the ever-present belt. Blurring the lines between day and evening wear, these electric and shapely pieces can take any woman, at anytime to anywhere. "This is how the modern girl wears it. There's no definition. It's about really convertible clothes," said Wu after the show.

designer clothing
Wu drew inspirations for the season from Iris Apfel, an eccentrically fashionable textile expert renowned for mixing colors and prints, as well as high and low fashion. Her exhibit at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York in 2006 resonated with Wu, who recalled that, "She was so full of color and texture and with her sense of style, I imagined what a Jason Wu girl would do when she raids Iris Apfel's closet."

designer clothes online

A dove feather-embroidered tulle shell, as well as a red and pink petaled coat, authentically reminiscent of real flower petals, seemed to really channel in the Iris Apfel flair that Wu was aiming for. His 'Jason Wu girl' is about being "luxurious, chic and truly modern", and no matter what convertible she's riding in to whatever destination, Resort 2010 will be just that.

Hair Accessories - Headbands and how to wear them with your Designer Clothing

Headbands can be a fun way to pep up your outfit - not just since Blair Waldorf is rocking them on Gossip Girl. In fact, in the show, headbands kind of stand for a conservative, old fashioned style. The new headband trend though intends to loosen up your style and add something girlie to it.

polo ralph lauren

I think a headband - be it a feather, crochet, satin or plastic headband - is best worn with a simple outfit. Denim pants or a skirt and a simple white or black fitted shirt with natural make-up seem to be the best fit.

Even though I haven’t “re-embraced” this long forgotten ’80s accessory I am willing to experiment with it now - especially since the price of a headband is only a fraction of the price of a new top - at the same time though it can really freshen up your look.

When wearing a headband most hair styles will work. Wearing your hair short or long, up or down, there are no rules and a headband will work. Skipping your earrings though is probably a good idea - don’t distract from your headband and “overload” yourself.

I personally don’t think the color or fabric of your headband has to match the rest of your clothes. Wild, audacious, unexpected - that’s the combination you are going for. Remember, you don’t want to look boring. After all, the reason for wearing a headband is to actually stand out and make a little fashion statement.

Chinos: Perfect Alternative in your Designer Clothing

The most laid back style of the trouser family, Chinos are the perfect alternative to jeans and harem pants this season and set to be a huge trend for designer clothes fashion. Designer like Polo Ralph Lauren are have Spring/Summer collection for this trend which features in a variety of colors such as pink and yellow.

polo ralph lauren

But for those of us that are not feeling that brave you can still add a touch of the trend to your outfit without making a big fashion faux pas. One thing that is great about them though, is that they fill will a hole in your entire wardrobes, providing an alternative to jeans and trousers. When jeans are too scruffy and a pair of black skinny trousers are too formal, chinos will prove to be your saviour. That is why most fashionistas who are already wearing harems and pegs have already switched onto the trend and have added them to their list.

Everyone's wearing a chinos, so what are you waiting for? Try this trend and see the difference.

Prairie Trend: Modern and Vintage Designer Clothes

The prairie trend is one of the trend in today's designer clothing fashion. It is sweet, simple-charming silhouettes, frilled camisoles, ruffled bib-front dresses, swishy, bustled skirts and done up in both retro floral prints and obviously modern, haute-glittery textures. It is now showcased by designer such as Marc Jacobs and Polo Ralph Lauren.

polo ralph lauren
This trend reflect a time when even the homespun types so wearing it looks disturbingly delusional. Exotic designs, Asian-inspired patterns and fabric, heavy painted wood bangles, tribal-looking bib necklaces embellished with raw stones felt defiantly stylish and daring against all the charming, innocent frills is the key to have a modern look of this trend.

To pull off this trend you can mix authentically rough-hewn vintage camisoles and prairie skirts with a modern, sparkly Lurex scarf and neon t-shirt. For night, up the glam factor through accessories: a glitzy bag, sexy heels, a great little jacket, and you’re good to go. Another trick is to wear a modern fitted plaid shirt and full skirt that shows legs. Have fun with playful accessories inspired by your little style house on the prairie.

Keep in mind that being simple with this trend is the big factor, so don't over do it.

Espadrilles: VIntage Look for your Designer Clothing

Espadrilles are casual flat or high-heel fashion sandals originating from the Pyrenees. They usually have a canvas or cotton fabric upper and a flexible sole made of rope or rubber material moulded to look like rope. The jute rope sole is the defining characteristic of an espadrille; the uppers vary widely in style. In Quebec French, however, espadrille is the usual term for running shoes.

polo ralph lauren

This footwear for your designer clothes are always argumented whether they are fashionably chic, or horrendously out of style. The soles of modern espadrilles are usually wedges, with a gradual incline of the heel. You can find flat espadrilles or platform styles, too. Many are slip on or slide versions, but still others may feature ankle straps to keep the foot more secure. Though many of the variants, especially of less expensive brands, feature synthetic roping around the heels, a popular feature is the use of jute, a natural fiber, to make the roping.

Alexa Chung was recently seen in her espadrilles, making them a hot topic for discussion. Some of the espadrilles advantages are they don't pinch like heels, they don't give you blisters like pumps and they don't hurt the balls of your feet like wedges. They're much the perfect shoe, and after they came back to the fashion forefront and designer like Polo Ralph Lauren are now creating designs for this trend.

Some people genuinely think these are pretty ugly and unflattering on their feet, considering the original espadrilles were flat, boring and looked like men's slippers, but now they've been given a radical make over to bring them up to date. Woven wedge heels, bright canvas colors and nautical themes are now the new features of this footwear.

This footwear is perfect for hippie-chic vibe that fits right in with the Bohemian fashions that are popular this season. So would you pull-off this trend?

Rock Fashion Trend: Playful Element for Designer Clothes

Rock Fashion all started at 50's as rock music started to emerge through the popular medium of Rock 'n' Roll and as such, new fashion trends started to come out. Right now in designer clothing fashion, rock fashion is coming back to the style this season.

polo ralph laurenRock chic has steadily evolved from its glam roots over the past few decades. Most designers such as Polo Ralph Lauren develop styles for this trend. From fierce, elegant look to sharp embroidery and ethnic rock look, other designers used various moods of chic rock wear to showcase their collections.

Some of this trend are created through knitwear with heavy embellishments, complimenting the female form into a range of shapes and silhouettes. Some other designs in knitwear are in angular ways that beautifully draped around the body to flatter curves. Such playful punk elements put these designers in the category of trend creators. So we will see plenty more innovative rocker aesthetics in the seasons to come.

For that rocker chic fashion trend you can take it to an extreme or you can just add a glimpse of it. Find the style that works best for you and your personality.

Water Color Print: Colorful Trend for Designer Clothing

Water color prints in designer clothes takes a special fashion taste and character to wear those busy prints, because patterns and prints need to be treated carefully and combined in a smart way. If you are not yet ready to wear the print, why not try wearing it at home on a rainy day. It takes some time to get used to wild and unpredictable color. Once you do wear your dress though you will notice how it lightens your mood instantly. Many celebrites and stars are now embracing this trend, that is why Polo Ralph Lauren and other designer create styles for this colorful trend.

polo ralph lauren

How to wear and accessorize this dress: Keep it simple, even jewelry may be already too much when wearing watercolor prints. Try too keep your accessories matched to your shoes in color and if possible also material. Just see yourself as the white, neutral canvas that the watercolor is painted on. If possible try to pick up either the darkest color of the dress or white for your choice of matching accessories and shoes. Less is more also when it comes to make up: only eye shadow or only lipstick will do.

How to wear it as a shirt: A great combination is to wear a watercolor print shirt with a white pair of jeans. This look kind of picks up the idea of the canvas again.

When to wear it: Wear it in your spare time though because unless you are in the creative field it might not fit in too well. However, try pairing up a watercolor print shirt with a white classy blazer and a pair of regular pants.

Mini dress: Cute and Sexy Designer Clothes

Regardless of how warm, cold, rainy, or sunny the weather might be, celebrities and stars are embracing the newest mini dress looks for their designer clothing both on the red carpet and in everyday life. With tons of the world's best known stars showing up in a huge array of mini dress fashions. From the simple classics to the ultra modern, there was no shortage of "above the knee" dresses populating the red carpet arrivals. Because of it's popularity, designer like Polo Ralph Lauren create different styles for this cute and sexy fashion trend.

polo ralph lauren

If you want to wear a mini dress then you absolutely should go for it, as long as you have a good sense of what works and what doesn't work on your own body. Unless you have a huge amount of confidence and a picture-perfect figure it's best to stay away from the modern/strange looks and instead opt for the modern/classic looks. Choose a mini dress that's about mid-thigh in length or slightly shorter, but never so short that your bum hangs out the back or you can't sit comfortably and modestly. If you are looking for a splash of colour consider a mini dress with a fun and trendy print to it, like polka dots, distinctive floral, or an all over bold colour like red, royal blue, emerald green, or the like.

Most of us simply want a mini dress that's comfortable, stylish, and practical for everyday living, so don't be afraid to shop around for more casual mini dress styles.

Once the staple of sun-drenched beaches, Super-short shorts have been given an uptown polish in this designer clothing fashion. Smart and sexy, the new shorts skim mid-thigh, come rolled at the hem and belted high on the waist and are made for chic restaurants and glamorous soirées.

Many fashion designer such as Polo Ralph Lauren feature this cute and sexy shorts. Shoulder Pad Trend: Another Designer Clothing Comeback

Leggings, headbands, and tapered jeans have all found there way back into the hearts and closets of many fashionable women. But there is one 80’s fashion trend that has long been mocked and thrown into the recesses of consignment stores everywhere that is now making a comeback, shoulder pads. This are a type of fabric-covered padding used in men's and women's designer clothes to give the wearer the illusion of having broader, and less sloping shoulders. In men's styles, shoulder pads are often used in suits, jackets and overcoats, usually sewn at the top of the shoulder and fastened between the lining and the outer fabric layer. While in women's clothing, their inclusion depends on the fashions of the day.

Most fashion designers including Polo Ralph Lauren are creating styles for this and suggesting that the rest of us should cover up; indeed, they appear to be intent upon adding volumes of cloth to our shoulders. And many stylist think wearing shoulder pads can actually make your butt look smaller! According to them, your butt is seen in relativity to your shoulders, so the wider your shoulder width, the smaller your hips and butt look. All of which has been much admired by the hard-core fashion cognoscenti – the same types that rejoice in the return of power-dressing – but those of us who blanch at the thought of a revival of shoulder pads need not necessarily panic if you are possessed of a good pair of shoulders, then by all means reveal them.

When you want to pull off this trend, be creative and imaginative. Being simple is the key to have a nice look.

Fringe sandals: Earthly Footwear trend for your Designer Clothes

Feathers and fringes are two of this season’s biggest trends in this season's designer clothing style. Designers such as Polo Ralph Lauren are using these two elements to embellish everything from clothing, jewelry, and accessories. And one of this trend are the new fringe sandals.

There are many ways on how to style with this earthly trend. One the best way to style fringe sandals is with denim. That could be a distressed pair of jeans or a denim skirt. This trend will also look best with clothing that only hints at earthiness, like a solid-color maxi dress or a peasant-cut silk top. The other style that you can try is with white linen pieces or flower ruffle skirts. The trend definitely goes into the hippie or bohemian direction but I think you can still pull it off elegantly based on the top and accessories you’re choosing.

It’s a shoe to have fun with and enjoy wearing this recent footwear trend.
